From that show, Cassidy became one of the 1970s most popular teen idol and pop singer. Cassidy produced five solo albums during The Partridge Family and the group produced another ten albums during that time. Cassidy became an incredible draw at concerts creating the term “Cassidymania.” Cassidy soon tired of the fame and eventually quit The Partridge Family and worked on his solo albums. David Cassidy charged with hit and run: Cassidy admitted to being an alcoholic in 2008. Since that time he has had numerous traffic violations. Cassidy has been charge with DWI in 2010, 2013 and 2014. In September of 2015, Cassidy was involved in a hit and run in Florida. Reportedly Cassidy was traveling at a high rate of speed and side swiped another vehicle. According to police, Cassidy stopped briefly, attempted to cover his license plate and then sped off despite have a flat tire from the collision. Another motorist took a picture of the 2014 Kia Cassidy was driving and that picture showing Cassidy’s license plate allowed police to find and arrest Cassidy.
