In March of 2020, a Travis county deputy stopped Alex Jones for driving 5 mph faster than the posted speed limit.

Jones was subsequently subjected to a DUI Investigation which almost always ends in an arrest.

Jones was arrested.

The Deputy had stopped Jones in response to a call from Jones’ ex-wife claiming that he might be driving intoxicated.

The Sheriff’s Department claimed that Jones had a strong odor of alcohol coming from him, that he failed field sobriety testing and that he could not maintain his balance and failed to touch heel to toe while walking.

The legal limit is .08; Jones’ blows were both under that at .076 and .079.

The prosecution dropped the charges.
